(note: this blog has moved. i’ll reblog a few more posts, but if you’d like to keep up with my stuff, please unfollow ex-valse and follow valse. thanks for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience.)
i am planning on submitting a piece to this. (probably bat-family art, if it makes a difference.)
i encourage people who are interested to a) also submit something, b) please donate what you can regardless of this, and c) as always, and as i’m sure you know, check out your charities to make sure they’re reputable and that they’re putting your money to good use before you donate. (see: websites like charitywatch.org, charitynavigator.org…)
thanks for listening to me soapbox, guys :(
A derail from your usual programming here at Show & Tell; but please don’t tune out. My sister and I wanted to put together something in light of the recent earthquakes and tsunami that’ve affected Japan, so here goes:

uh, so. haha. 417 hits/notes/whatever on that batfam pic….?? wow. seriously, thanks everyone. :’D
is this the power of fanart? the power of franchise? lol whatever it is i’m overwhelmed & delighted hahaha
anyway my coworkers & i go out to sketch over lunch every thursday so here are a few disembodied heads from lunchtime sketching…
oh wow tumblr lol…. i should update this, shouldn’t i? :D;
also you are very kind! for the greys i use kuretake watercolor pens. i think you are supposed to fill them up with water so you can use them on-the-go with the kind of watercolors that come in little dry cakes on palettes, but i mix ink in and it seems to do just fine, though the brushes don’t look so nice once you do that.
i also have a pentel brush pen which is really nice. that is generally what i use for black. i kind of want to use my real 毛筆 more often because you can get much thinner lines out of it, but i am also incredibly lazy. and my cat eats ink if i leave it out, which i disapprove of.
hello all the new followers. there have been a lot of you over the past couple of days. thank you all so much. i can’t express in words how grateful i am! for reals! :)
here is something that i would more or less classify as a drawing of my desk. the right side: the thing that is supposed to be my desk except in terrible perspective. the left side: the spot on the floor that for all intents and purposes is my desk. (it is also my chair.)
